The ninth version of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup will take place in 2024. Due to instability in politics in Bangladesh, the event that was originally planned to take place there from October 3 to October 20, 2024, was eventually moved to the United Arab Emirates for the same dates. Despite this, the Bangladesh Cricket Board retains hosting rights as the reigning champions of Australia.
The 10 qualifying teams were split into two groups of 5 teams each. Each group's five teams faced each other in 10 matches, with the best two teams from each group moving on to the elimination stage.
World Cup Winning Team
Including 3 consecutive WT20 World Cups, Australia has won 6 of the 8 events to date. In Group A, they take on New Zealand, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
England, the competition's first winner in 2009, is in Group B, with the winners in 2016, Bangladesh, Scotland, South Africa, and the West Indies.
ICC World Cup Rules
In T20 cricket, each side bats for one inning, or 20 overs, with six balls in each over. A coin flip determines the first team to bat, and they are also the ones noted first on the record. The other team's goal is to beat that score to win the game. It usually takes a little over three hours to finish a game.
T20 cricket is one of three types of international cricket, along with Test cricket, which is played over five days for six hours a day, and One-Day Internationals (ODI), which lasts eight hours and features 50 overs per team.
