This will be the first time in Climbing history that the entire set of IFSC World Cup trophies for the 2024 season is given away at one event.

The 9th event of this year's IFSC World Cup Series, which takes place at the Kangnam Spots Climbing Centre in Seoul, South Korea, from October 2 to 6, will bring together a record-breaking 268 athletes - 157 men and 111 women - representing 42 countries and all five continents.

It's been an intense season of sport climbing at the IFSC World Cup 2024, starting with the first taste of competition in Keqiao, People's Republic of China, and ending with the most recent thrilling show in Prague, Czechia.

Participants of the Competition

Olympic champions, World Cup winners, and up-and-coming talent will compete against each other for the final time this season in the final round, competing for World Cup championships.

Teams from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, China, India, Macao, China, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Thailand will be among the many Asian nations that will journey to the capital of South Korea to compete in the three sports.

Saudi Arabia will be represented at an IFSC World Cup for the first time ever, with five climbers registered to compete in the four Boulder and Lead medal categories.

Five Stars to Watch at the IFSC

In this exciting and innovative city, there are still many fights to be determined in the three disciplines of Boulder, Lead, and Speed. However, there is one more week of climbing until the IFSC World Cup 2024 comes to an end.

This season, Toby Roberts of Great Britain has dominated the World Cup, finishing eighth in eight different competitions, his lowest finish ever. He'll be aiming to add to his great record in Seoul by winning the World Cup in Boulder and Lead.

1. Toby Roberts – Great Britain

During the IFSC, the 19-year-old's rigorous pre-Olympic training schedule paid off, helping him win his maiden Olympic gold medal in the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

A week later, he won his first season competition, the Lead competition in Wujiang, China, after finishing fourth in the Boulder event at the World Cup in Keqiao.

2. Deng Lijuan – China

In the women's speed World Cup rankings, Deng Lijuan leads Poland's Aleksandra Kalucka by a considerable margin heading into the season's last World Cup. Her World Cup triumph in Briançon, France, and her silver medal at Paris 2024 are among her season's highlights.

3. Sam Watson – United States

Sam Watson is experienced in breaking records. The 18-year-old from Southlake, Texas, created waves in the World Cup this season by setting two world records in Wujiang, People's Republic of China, and then taking the pitch in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Chamonix, France, to win two straights.

4. Oceania Mackenzie – Australia

The Australian climber secured her first-ever World Cup Boulder podium two weeks ago in Prague, Czechia. She also finished seventh in the Boulder and Lead mixed event during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

5. Lee Dohyun – Korea

Memories of his thrilling success at the IFSC World Cup Prague 2024 will be fresh in Lee Dohyun's thoughts when he gets to Seoul. But he'll need to maintain focus if he wants to duplicate his outstanding performance in the season's last World Cup.
