Today’s news drop might turn sports lovers in a gloomy mood. It is about Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, who gets injured during his match against Manchester City.

Club authorities have confirmed the news, and the goalkeeper is out for months instead of weeks for his treatment. In addition, Tottenham Hotspur has decided to appoint a new goalkeeper to carry on the club’s activities for the upcoming Winter Football Transfer Window in January.

Goalkeeper Injury

Guglielmo Vicario is the goalkeeper of Tottenham Hotspur and has faced an ankle injury. The incident took place during his match against Manchester City when the opponent player, Savinho, crashed into the Italian goalkeeper in the first half of the game.

Vicario felt the pain but ignored it for the moment and advanced the game to the second half. Remember, Spurs led the match with a score of 4-0 on Saturday. After the game, Spurs and Guglielmo found out that the injury was not an ordinary one; it was a fracture of the right ankle that required surgery.

Suggestion of Appointing a New Goalkeeper

The news of the 28-year-old Guglielmo’s injury was spread like wildfire across Tottenham Hotspur and other football clubs. In addition, it was a huge disappointment for the team to cater further matches and winning records.

To carry on the practices for the Winter Football Transfer Window and other upcoming matches, Spur announced to search for and keep a new goalkeeper to replace Guglielmo. In this regard, the majority of the vote is toward 36-year-old Fraser Forster.

Tottenham Hotspur Upcoming Matches

Though the club has decided to buy a new goalkeeper, it is worried over the fact that the team will cope with the new goalkeeper in the absence of Guglielmo Vicario. Several matches, including a Europa League game against Roma and Premier League fixtures against Fulham, Chelsea, and Manchester United at Carabao quarterfinals and Liverpool, are ahead in which Tottenham anticipates winning.

Treatment Tenure

Football club Spurs has announced that the goalkeeper has undergone surgery. He will remain under the observation of the club's medical staff. Overall, the League officials do not reveal the information about his complete recovery. The time when the goalkeeper will adorn the pitch is still unknown.
