At the Oman Cricket Academy Ground on Saturday, India A defeated the Pakistan Shaheens by seven runs in an exciting ACC T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 encounter. In their first Group B encounter, India A batted first and scored 183/8 due to a spirited 44 from captain Tilak Varma.

In response, the Indian team's precise bowling caused the Pakistan Shaheens, the winners of the previous two 50-over cricket tournaments, to lose by seven runs.

Indian Teams Performance

Tilak Varma won the toss and chose to bat. Opening batsmen Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh gave India a spectacular start. They scored 68 runs in the first six overs. But the partnership ended when the powerplay ended, and Sufiyan Muqeem bowled out Sharma in the very next delivery. Additionally, Singh left in the very next over.

Nehal Wadhera and captain Tilak Varma controlled the ship and helped India surpass 100. At 183/8, the Indian innings ended. The best bowler from Pakistan was Sufiyan Muqeem, who had a score of 2/28.

Pakistani Team Performance

But, the Shaheens bounced back and played admirably, with Qasim Akram and Yasir Khan having open shooting. Even Abbas Afridi's late nine-ball 18 was insufficient to keep Pakistan from losing.

In the 20 overs, Pakistan Shaheens collapsed for 176/7 due to two wickets apiece from Sindhu and Rasikh Salam.

India Vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024:

Will the Indian team travel back to India after every Game?

A representative of the BCCI denied receiving any proposal from the PCB about team India's stay during the Champions Trophy. This competition is scheduled for February–March of next year in Pakistan.

PCB presented the BCCI with a trip plan in hopes of receiving a favorable answer about Team India's participation in the Champions Trophy next year. After each Champions Trophy match, the Indian team would take a plane back to Delhi or Chandigarh. This will relieve their worries about Pakistani security.

But according to Dainik Jagran, Pakistan's board has not submitted such a proposal to them. He added clearly that the BCCI would have quickly turned down such an offer.

This event, which is planned to take place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from February 19 to March 9, 2025, will be the largest in the history of the city.

According to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, "the Indian team would love to travel to Pakistan for the competition". PM party, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is currently in power.
