Today’s news is about Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams. Jamo claims that he can run a 4.1 second 40-yard dash time and dares anyone could doubt it. The speedy wide receiver stands firm on his bold claim and won’t back down.

Jameson Williams Claims that He Can Run a 4.1 40-yard Dash

Williams made a long-awaited appearance in his teammate Amon-Ra St. Brown's podcast and claims that he can run a 4.1 second 40-yard dash time. He added that he could've run at the NFL Combine when he was entering the draft in 2022. A torn ACL in the national title game playing for Alabama kept that from happening.

Jamo’s Claim Raise Skepticism

Jamo’s bold statement has raised waves of scepticism. His Amon-Ra teammate, St. Brown expressed his doubt about Williams' claim that he could run a 4.1. He said, "I do love Jamo, but I don’t think he’s touching 4.1,” St. Brown said. “That’s crazy.”

Quarterback Jared Goff holds similar doubts. "Yeah, I guess if he says so, I don’t know. We’ll have to go measure it sometime," Goff said. "He’s hard to track down if we want to measure his 40, but he says 4.1, we have to hold him accountable.”

Jameson Remains Confident

Williams is not backing down from his claim, and despite the doubts, he has full confidence in his prowess on-field skills. He said, "I think I can for sure. I probably could run faster."

There is no doubt that he is one of the fastest NFL players. On his 82-yard touchdown catch in Week 16 against the Chicago Bears, Next Gen Stats had him as the fifth-fastest ball carrier in the league for the week (20.9 MPH).

During his pre-draft process, Williams noted that he never ran a 40-yard dash, but his speed rating in the video game "Madden" is a sign of respect for his fast-running skills.

NFL’s Fastest 40-Yard Dash Time

Williams’ claim of the fastest 40-yard dash time unveiled Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy record. He has achieved the fastest 40-yard dash time in the NFL Combine this year. The record dash time was 4.21 seconds. Williams believes in his powerful performance and is confident that he can beat that time by a shade over a tenth of a second.

Goff’s Challenge to Jamo

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff expressed his scepticism on Williams' claim. He puts forward an idea of Williams running a combine-style 40-yard dash to prove his claim. Williams has openly accepted the challenge. No doubt, the Lions' social media team would likely capture the thrilling event.
