Alpine Skier Lindsey Vonn said last May, when she attended the 2024 Laureus Awards in Madrid, Spain:
"I've always had a strong sense of drive, even as a little child. I never enjoyed being stationary. I want to keep doing things all the time."
The legendary Lindsey Vonn returned to the hills a few months later, practicing her favorite sport in New Zealand. She was most recently seen training in the Austrian resort of Soelden, which supported rumors that she might make a comeback.
She posted on social media, “With this new knee that is now a part of me… I feel like a whole new chapter of my life is unfolding before my eyes,”.
Lindsey Vonn Pushed the Boundaries of Skiing
Vonn is still enthusiastic about the sport she played for 20 years, five years after she retired: "I always tried to do in my career is push the sport forward." In response to the many injuries that affected many players last season, including Mikaela Shiffrin and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, the American stated, "I think safety is obviously a big issue, but it's always been a big issue."
Vonn also thinks more must be done to improve Skiing's visibility on television: "It's crazy that you can't watch ski racing in the United States right now. Only Austrian races are available for us to watch, and they only air on one station at three in the morning. So, not many Americans are currently watching ski racing.
Sofia Goggia and Mikaela Shiffrin
Vonn's friend Sofia Goggia commented, "Who will live, will see," in response to rumors that Vonn will take part at least once in the 2024–2025 season. Mikaela Shiffrin, who broke Vonn's record for the most World Cup victories among women last year, said, "I'm intrigued by it."
Vonn has always placed a high priority on mentoring. Vonn reassured the Italian after Goggia had many leg fractures during training earlier this year. Vonn said, "I spoke with her later, and she was in a much better place, but I know she struggled a lot with this last injury."
Is Mikaela Shiffrin still Skiing?
For the forthcoming 2024–2025 season, Stifel U.S. Ski Team skier Mikaela Shiffrin provided updates that took a slightly different approach. Shiffrin will concentrate on three sports this season: super-G, giant slalom, and slalom. She has no intention of going downward during the World Cup.
What skis does Mikaela Shiffrin use?
The Atomic Redster WC 150 Race Boot is a strong, effective race boot for the competitive and top racer. Marcel Hirscher and Mikaela Shiffrin contributed to its creation, which is evident in its performance.
