The 32-year-old Kim Ye-ji won silver in the Paris Summer Olympics's women's 10m air pistol competition. Her calm manner, together with her baseball cap and wire-rimmed glasses, made her an internet trend across the globe. Stars like Elon Musk praised her when clips of her shooting went viral.

Musk posted on his social media platform, Twitter, at the time, "An action film starring her would be great. No acting is necessary." She will now portray an assassin in "Crush," an additional short-form series of the international film project "Asia," an Asia Lab representative located in Seoul informed AFP on Friday.

Asia Film Cast

The film Asia, directed by Asia Lab CEO Lee Jung-sub, tells stories of people who face hatred and discrimination. Anushka Sen, an Indian megastar television actress and model, is among the American and Asian stars in its cast.

A statement released separately by Asia Lab expressed their excitement about the possible synergy that could result from Kim Ye-ji and Anushka Sen's recent transition into a powerful duo.

On September 14, Asia Lab shared images and videos of the two women dressed in black and carrying guns, working on the series on Instagram. Sen stated she was glad to work with Kim after sharing a video of Kim fixing her pistol handling technique that same day.

Kim Ye-ji Popularity

A brief video of Kim at the Baku World Cup in May, following her silver medal, went viral and inspired numerous fan art pieces, countless memes, and K-pop remixes of the clip. In that competition, she broke the world record and went on to win the 25-meter pistol title.

In August, Kim joined a South Korean entertainment agency to help manage her extracurricular activities, and since then, she has appeared in a Louis Vuitton magazine picture shoot.

Kim Ye-ji Interview

Kim stated in an interview that while she is grateful for the attention, particularly for a meme that included her with well-known action movie stars, she wishes more of it would be directed towards the sport itself.

Through a translator, she stated, "I am very thankful that everybody and the internet love me on social media, but I am a shooting sport athlete, not like an influencer." "I hope this love and interest extends to shooting sports and is not limited to me."
