The U23 World Wrestling Championships 2024, which will take place in Tirana, Albania, from October 21 to 27, will include 30 Indian wrestlers competing for medals. Both men's and women's freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling competitions will occur in ten weight divisions. Each category will have a single submission from India. Six hundred sixty-four grapplers compete in Tirana, 240 men's freestyle and Greco-Roman, and 184 women's freestyle.
In the history of the U23 World Wrestling Championships, Indian wrestlers have only taken home two gold medals thus far. Reetika Hooda won the women's 76kg division at the previous year's competition, also held in Tirana, while Aman Sehrawat men's 57kg took first place in 2022.
However, because the Wrestling Federation of India WFI was authorized by UWW at the time, Reetika was wrestling under the United World Wrestling flag last year. Indian wrestlers returned from the previous year's competition with eight more medals, including two silver and six bronze, excluding Reetika's.
