Depending on the number of teams wanting to compete in each age category, the Junior Olympics Tournament is divided into three divisions: the Championship Division, the Classic Division, and the Invitational Division. Teams compete in their respective age categories over the course of four days.
Some Important Changes for 2024

- A maximum of two international athletes per age group/gender per club may be rostered for the Zone Qualification Tournament and Championship Finals in the 16 and under and 18 and under divisions.
- International athletes are not allowed to compete in the 14-and-under, 12-and-under, or 10-and-under age divisions at the Zone Qualification Tournament or Championship Finals.

- Teams and athletes cannot participate in Sessions I, II, or III, even among various age groups. For example, a player cannot compete in Session I on a 16U roster and Session III on an 18U roster.
