Two of the Australian women's leagues, AFLW and WBBL, have achieved record-breaking ratings and earned significant attention from their fans in 2024. The former league (Australian Women Football League) streamed highest, while the latter (Women Big Bash League) followed in their footsteps by streaming in point next to it on all Foxtel Group platforms.

AFLW Breaks Previous Streaming Records

Moreover, WBBL fans and sports enthusiasts view the league for a total of 132 million minutes. It is the fourth consecutive year of WBBL’s growth, coming up with one of the top five most-watched games—a grand finale between the Melbourne Renegades and Brisbane Heat.
In this regard, the Executive Director of Commercial Sport of the Foxtel Group, Rebecca McCloy, shared her happiness about the women’s team's growth. She also conveyed appreciation to Cricket Australia for this achievement. Rebecca further believes that WBBL’s participation in Foxtel’s Summer of Cricket will help increase the audience more than before.
In addition, the executive general manager of the Big Bash League, Alistair Dobson, highlighted that WBBL has become the world’s best women’s cricket league, conducting top-notch team encounters and a loyal fan base.
